Affordable Care Act (ACA) - Affordable Health Coverage

Open enrollment for health insurance coverage options mandated by the Affordable Care Act begins October 1, 2013. Coverage begins January 1, 2014. Find out more about your options and responsibilities using the resources below. 

   Health Care in Washington is Changing for the Better  
  • To find out about health care coverage options, visit the Washington Healthplanfinder.
  • Apply for health care coverage through the Health Benefit Exchange or Medicaid/Apple Health
  • Beginning October 1, call toll-free customer support:
    • Monday through Friday, 7:30 am and 8:00 pm
    • 1-855-WAFINDER (1-855-923-4633) or TTY/TTD 1-855-627-9604
  • Information about in-person assistance in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston Counties will be available by October 1.
  • Almost 65?  You can sign up for Medicare through the Social Security website or get information and help from the Washington State Insurance Commissioner.
  • Use this Health Care Calculator to figure out how much health insurance might cost and how much tax credit you might expect to offset the cost.
  • Check this Quick Reference Guide to find out if you are required by federal law to obtain health care coverage.
