TRL Expands Access with New Self-Service Model at Naselle Branch Starting Oct 1, 2024

For Immediate Release

Timberland Regional Library Expands Access with New Self-Service Model at Naselle Branch

Naselle, WA – August 29, 2024 – Timberland Regional Library (TRL) is introducing a new self-service model at the Naselle Timberland Library, starting October 1, 2024. With this change, patrons will be able to check out materials, use computers, and access library resources seven days a week, from 7 AM to 8 PM, even when staff are not on-site—once they have signed up for Expanded Access.

This shift not only enhances convenience for users but also allows TRL staff to engage more deeply with the community. By reducing time spent on routine in-branch tasks, staff can now focus more on outreach initiatives such as visiting schools, childcare facilities, local food banks, and community events.

While staff may not always be physically present at the Naselle branch, they will still be available through live chat, phone, or in person at any of TRL’s 28 other branches. Patrons can continue to schedule tech help appointments and enjoy full access to both physical and digital collections.

To ensure a smooth transition, Naselle staff are encouraging patrons to sign up for Expanded Access as soon as possible. For those unable to sign up before October 1, the Naselle Library will continue to offer staffed programming throughout the fall, during which patrons can enroll in Expanded Access if they haven’t done so already.

Expanded Access is currently available at 11 TRL branches. Once enrolled, patrons can visit any of these locations during EAH hours.

For information on upcoming programs at Naselle, please visit TRL’s Online Events Calendar at TRL.org/Events, and stay updated by following the Naselle Library Facebook page.
