Summer Adventures Return with Timberland Regional Library’s Summer Library Program

Discover Adventure, Learning, and Fun this summer with TRL!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

5/22/2024 - Timberland Regional Library (TRL) is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated Summer Library Program (SLP), commencing on June 1st and continuing through August 31st. Designed to cater to all ages, from newborns to centenarians and everyone in between, SLP promises a summer of excitement, learning, and adventure for the whole community.

During Summer Library Program, the library is a vibrant hub of activity offering engaging opportunities from discovering captivating books to participating in hands-on creative and science-based programs, exploring the outdoors through StoryTrails, to attending exciting events across TRL's 29 branches and the wider community. There's something for everyone to enjoy all summer long. The full lineup of programs can be explored on TRL's online Events Calendar.

For those unable to visit a library in person, TRL's mobile Anywhere Library vans bring the magic of the library and SLP directly to communities across Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston counties. These stops are open to the public and free of charge, providing access to enriching experiences for all.

Signing up for SLP at any Timberland library comes with exciting perks, including a complimentary book (available to participants of all ages), a practical TRL tote bag for carrying your summer reads (one per family), and a paper SLP activity log to track your adventures (available for all participants). The activity log has four categories: Read, Learn, Create, and Explore, each offering various engaging activities. Participants can log their progress on paper or conveniently online via Beanstack, accessible through the library's website or the Beanstack app on mobile devices.

Upon completing ten activities, participants are rewarded with a second free book (available to all ages) and, while supplies last, youth can also receive complimentary tickets to Northwest Trek Wildlife Park or Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium (for ages 12 and under) and tickets to a Tacoma Rainiers game (for ages 4-13, with children 3 and under entering free).

TRL extends its gratitude to the generous sponsors whose support makes the Summer Library Program possible, including TRL Friends of the Library, Northwest Trek and Point Defiance Zoo, and the Tacoma Rainiers.

For more information and to join in the summer fun, visit your local Timberland library or explore online at TRL.org.
