Timberland Regional Library Surpasses 2 Million Digital Checkouts in 2024

For the first time, TRL surpasses the 2 million milestone for digital checkouts through the award-winning Libby app

TUMWATER, WA–Timberland Regional LIBRARY (TRL) reached an exciting new milestone in 2024: 2 million+ digital checkouts. This achievement highlights the library’s commitment to serving the diverse needs of its community by providing an extensive collection of eBooks, audiobooks, and other digital media.

Patrons joined in the celebration of this significant milestone on the Library's Social Media, opens a new window commenting, "My family proudly contributed to that phenomenal number!" and "Libby and my Kindle enable this visually disabled person to still enjoy reading. Thank you Libby."

TRL has been providing readers 24/7 access to eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and other digital content since 2006 through the award-winning Libby app, , opens a new windowa reading app created by OverDrive. Their vast collection serves readers of all ages and interests, with usage growing exponentially, opens a new window in recent years.

"We are incredibly excited that Timberland Regional Library readers surpassed 2 million checkouts for the first time,” said Kim Storbeck, Collection Services Manager at TRL. “We are delighted to serve readers of all interests and ages with this free, always growing, and diverse collection."

The highest-circulating title Timberland Regional Library readers borrowed in 2024 was “Iron Flame” by Rebecca Yarros in audiobook format, making this the first year an audiobook will take the lead as the most borrowed format.
