Tumwater Timberland Library to Reopen June 28 with Community Celebration

Temporary Library Services at TRL Service Center will end June 14 for the move back into the renovated library building.

The wait is almost over! The Tumwater Timberland Library will officially reopen its doors on Saturday, June 28 in a fully renovated and refreshed space, and everyone is invited to join the celebration.

The updated library features improved spaces for reading, learning, gathering, and exploring. With updated interiors and a renewed focus on serving community needs, the renovated building is designed to be a welcoming hub for connection and creativity.

⚠️ Temporary Library Services Ending June 14

To prepare for the transition, library services at the TRL Service Center will end after Saturday, June 14.

There will be no in-person library services other than scheduled storytimes in Tumwater from June 15–27 as staff move materials and set up the updated space.

Holds pickups will be extended.

During this time, patrons are encouraged to:

  • Visit nearby libraries in Olympia, Lacey, or Tenino
  • Access digital services 24/7 at TRL.org, opens a new window
  • Borrow eBooks, audiobooks, stream video, and more with the Libby and Kanopy apps
