If Taylor Swift came to the library... what would she check out?
Like many people, I've had Taylor Swift on my mind the past few years, and even moreso recently with her New Heights podcast appearance and then the big engagement announcement. I'll admit, I've caught myself daydreaming about the wedding, who her bridesmaids might be, what her dress might look like and even picture her in the kitchen lovingly baking sourdough bread for the Kelce family.
As a woman in her late 50's, yes, I do absolutely know this is silly. But, it is a good distraction from all of the heaviness in the world right now, and it makes me smile. Anyways, back to my daydreaming. I was picturing Taylor coming into the library and wandering through the aisles. What would she stop to look at and put in her basket to check out?
I can just see her in the non-fiction section, reaching for a book about cats, because you know Meredith, Olivia and Benjamin would expect nothing less. Then maybe she would wander over to the fairy tale section, feeding into that folklore/evermore aesthetic that she loves. And then of course she would go to the sports section, because if you are about to marry a NFL star, brushing up on football is a must.
She would then ask me where the cookbooks are and I would pull out some great sourdough books that she would absolutely love.

I also think Taylor would be all about the apps. She would definitely have the Libby app so she could have a whole library of eBooks and audiobooks to take on the road, the Mango app to help her brush up on languages so she could greet her fans from all over the world, and of course she would have the TRLGo app, so she can keep track of returns, renewals and exciting library programs.
Taylor Swift and the library, absolutely a love story! They both spark imagination, bring a little joy when the world feels heavy and remind us that stories (in songs or books) connect us all.
