Tumwater Timberland Library to Close January 11-26 for Remodel,
Limited Services Resume January 27 During Construction

Tumwater, WA – The City of Tumwater and Timberland Regional Library (TRL) are excited to announce the upcoming remodel of the Tumwater Timberland Library. To prepare for construction, the library will temporarily close starting Saturday, January 11, 2025, then reopen offering limited services from the library’s meeting room beginning Monday, January 27. 

During the remodel, patrons will have access to a limited selection of materials, public computers, printing, and Wi-Fi, as well as holds pickup and return services from 10am-6pm Monday through Saturday.  

This remodel will refresh & modernize the library to better serve the needs of the community. Key features include an innovative new children’s area, improved spaces for patrons of all ages, and a refreshed layout that enhances accessibility and efficiency. 

The Tumwater Timberland Library is a cornerstone of our community, and we’re excited for these updates,” said Mayor Debbie Sullivan.  “The remodel will ensure this vital space continues to serve as a hub for learning, exploration, and connection.” 

The library is expected to reopen in June 2025, with a grand reopening to mark the occasion. In the meantime, patrons are encouraged to visit nearby Timberland Regional Library locations for more services and programs, including Olympia, West Olympia, Lacey, & Hawks Prairie which are all accessible by bus, and explore TRL’s extensive online resources at TRL.org.
