Mountain View Talk with Judi B

I'm excited to share a significant milestone in the New Mountain View Timberland Library. While the progress made may not be ones you can physically SEE, our team has been planning the new library for a long time!

Here is a project timeline bringing us up to today:

Spring 2022: Some of you may have filled out our community survey or attended the Community Conversations meeting to give your input on the new library in Randle.

Fall 2022: We chose Aetta Architects (formally Johansson Wing Architects) who have been working diligently to design a library we can all be proud of.

January 2023: We saw the purchase of our new property finalized. For many years our library was “next to the dentist”, and we missed Dr. Lemert and his staff when they moved. Our new location will put us right next door again – and just steps from White Pass schools!

January 2024: We have designated our contractor and received approval from our Board of Trustees to move forward with the project!

I often explain that building a library is not like building a house. As a public building, there are different (and more) regulations and codes regarding construction and elements that must be followed; this is one of the reasons the planning process has taken a while. However, The new Mountain View Timberland Library will be absolutely worth the wait.

Want to stay informed every step of the way? Join our special email list by emailing Communications@TRL.org with your contact information or stop into Mountain View or Packwood libraries. Additionally, you can visit the New Mountain Library Project webpage which will be regularly updated with up-to-date information, blogs, news releases, photos, and videos.

We look forward to this journey and exciting time for our community and patrons. We hope you will visit us in our current location if you have questions.
